DistributionChina (Fujian, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Guangxi, Hong Kong)

Type locality: Ch’ungan Hsien, Fukien Province, China.  
Reproductionoviparous 
TypesHolotype: AMNH 34437; female, collected by Clifford H. Pope Collection Date: April-September, 1926 Paratypes: (n=15) all come from the type locality. AMNH 33708-710, AMNH 34428-436, and AMNH 34438-40 
DiagnosisDIAGNOSIS: An Opisthotropis alied through strongly keeled scales and a high upper labial count to rugosa and typica of Sumatra and Borneo. The nasals are undivided and the prefrontal single (from Pope 1928).

Diet: fishes, frogs, tadpoles, freshwater shrimp and earthworms.
