Diagnosis 
CommentDiet: herbivorous

This species belongs to the palluma group (fide LOBO et al. 2010). 
EtymologyNamed after Spanish and Quechua “puna”, a high plateau in the central andes of Perúm Chile, Bolivia and Argentina. [“...El nombre se refiere a las condiciones ambientales de "puna”, que prevalecen en el hábitat de la nueva forma...”].
