CommentGroup: S. formosus group (sensu lato, fide PÉREZ-RAMOS & SALDAÑA DE LA RIVA 2008) 
EtymologyThe Latin sub, meaning "somewhat," is applied in the sense that this taxon is "somewhat like," or "related to," pictus.
