Type locality: Zirkuch and Seistan, eastern Persia; [restricted to Chadschi-du-i Tschaghi by Shcherbak & Golubev 1986:45]

DiagnosisDiagnosis: Enlarged scales of dorsum do not extend forward beyond the shoulder, neck covered by small granular scales; ventral scales slightly smaller than or subequal to dorsals; 36-52 scales round the middle of body; 9-11 supralabials; 9-10 infralabials (Anderson 1999: 186).

EtymologyNamed after Jacques von Bedriaga (1854-1906), Russian-born herpetologist.
