Type locality: “2700 mètres d'altitude sur la lèvre nord-est du cratère de la partie sommitale du Mont Mekua, Monts Bamboutos, Cameroun (5° 42' Nord, 10° 03' Est)”

Diagnosis 
CommentSympatry: T. maculilabris is the only other species that occurs above 2000 m elevation in the area where T. mekuana was found.

The publication date is 2001, not 2000, fide Frétey 2023. 
Etymologynamed after the type locality.
