Type locality: Pulau Tioman, Pahang, West Malaysia.

DiagnosisDiagnosis: Distinguished from all other species by the unique combination of having 7 modified maxillary teeth; 3rd and 4th supralabials contacting orbit; preocular present; mental separated from anterior chinshields; six scales surrounding the paraparietal; 213-228 ventral scales (Table 1); tail short, thick, and abruptly tapered (Fig. 4); and dorsal scales reduced to 4 rows on tail opposite last subcaudal anterior to terminal scute.
