DiagnosisDiagnosis: Calyptotis ruficauda differs from its congeners in possessing prefrontal scales and a well-developed external ear opening with a scaleless tympanum. 
CommentLimb morphology: 5 digits, 5 toes (Singhal et al. 2018, Cogger 2014) 
EtymologyNamed after Latin “rufus” = red and “cauda” = tail. The tail is actually “coral pink” according to Greer 1983.
