CommentOne of the rarest boas in the world with only three specimens in scientific collections (Henderson 1997).

Habitat: fully arboreal (Harrington et al. 2018). 
EtymologyNamed after Ottorino de Fiori, Baron de Cropani, an Italian who became Professor of Geology and Paleontology, Universidade de Sao Paulo, Brazil (1935). After 1953 he became Director, Instituto Vulcanologico, Catania, Sicily.
