DiagnosisDiagnosis: Back with small dark dots, irregularly arranged or fonning 10-12 more or less continuous, vermiculate rows; dark stripes that extend from nostrils over eye and above ear usually end on flanks in first third of body; tail with up to 30 transverse bars, which may coalesce to form longitudinal stripes on sides; 5-11 gular scales in contact with mental (Szczerbak and Golubev 1986:49; 1996:48, Anderson 1999: 147). 
CommentSynonymy: Given that lumsdenii and maynardi are considered as full species by KHAN (2003), evermanni s. str. does not occur in Pakistan according to KHAN (pers. comm.). However, KRYSKO et al. (2007) state the the status of C. lumsdenii is questionable.

Type species: Gymnodactylus eversmanni WIEGMANN 1834: 19 is the type species of the genus Crossobamon BOETTGER 1888 (nomen novum pro Ptenodactylus STRAUCH 1887 non Ptenodactylus GRAY 1845).

Distribution: See map in SMID et al. 2014 for distribution in Iran. 
EtymologyNamed after Eduard Eversmann (1794-1860), German physician and naturalist.
