Diagnosis | Diagnosis: Cyrtodactylus hutan sp. nov. can be distinguished from all recognized Cyrtodactylus species by a combination of the following characters: maximum SVL of at least 116 mm; 11–13 supralabials; 8–10 infralabials; moderate tuberculation on dorsal surface of body; no tubercles on ventral surface of body; 40–49 paravertebral tubercles; 13–20 longitudinal tubercle rows; 45–80 ventral scales; 21–27 subdigital lamellae on fourth toe; 0–2 femoral pores; often enlarged femoral scales; 0–11 preanal pores; preanal pit; indistinct dorsal body bands; rostral chevron; and a single row of enlarged caudal scales. The species can further be distinguished using fixed genetic differences. |

Etymology | The specific epithet hutan is Bahasa Melayu word for forest. The species is a large-bodied forest-dweller, and is among the most frequently encountered and conspicuous geckos in the Miri Division forests at night. |
