Type locality: Bendimahi Wasserfälle, 9 km N Muradiye, elevation 1850 m., Provi. Van, Türkei.  
Reproductionoviparous; parthenogenetic "species", probably resulting from hybridization between D. valentini and D. raddei (SCHMIDTLER et al. 1994).
