Type locality: Mount Balineau [Mount Balingean], Muka district, Sarawak (= Gunung Balingan, 01° 25’ N, 111° 28’ E), Sibu Division, East Malaysia.

CommentHabitat: Arboreal.

Illustration: DAS (2004) published the first illustration of this species.

Synonymy: Linkem et al. (2013) showed in a phylogenetic analysis that Lamprolepis vyneri is not closely related to Lamprolepis smaragdina, but rather a sister to other Dasia species. However, they did not explicitly recommend to rename the species. 
EtymologyNamed after Charles Vyner Brooke (1874-1963), the Rajah Muda of Sarawak and later (1917-1946) the Third Rajah of Sarawak.
