DiagnosisDiagnosis: Dierogekko nehoueensis can be distinguished from all congeners on the basis of the following combination of characters: size relatively small (to 40.3 mm SVL), 1–2 internasal scales; distal subdigital lamellae divided; male preanal pores in two rows (12 in anterior row, 5–8 in posterior row). Narrow beige and dark brown lines bordering dorsal pale region well developed, dark brown line medial to beige stripe present from lumbar region onto tail base.
CommentCONSERVATION STATUS.—Dierogekko nehoueensisappears to be relatively common at all localities where it has been found, but the area is small and it experiences intensive human use. The species is regarded as Endangered by BAUER et al. (2006).

EtymologyThe specific epithet is derived from the Rivière Néhoué, the type locality of the species and one of only three known localities where it occurs. The gallery forest along this small river is the type locality for two other species, Kanakysaurus viviparusand Eurydactylodes agricolae, and is one of the most herpetologically important lowland sites in the Province Nord. It has previously been recognized as having high conservation value (Veillon et al. 1999).
