TypesLectotype: MNHN-RA 7084; paralectotype: MNHN-RA 7084A, Ambon (in error), collected by Hombron & Jacquinot, designated by Brown (1991). 
Diagnosis 
CommentSynonymy: Lygosoma cyanogaster tongana WERNER 1899 has been synonymized with this species by BROWN and GIBBONS (1986) and others. See Emoia tongana.

This species is highly heterogenous genetically (see AUSTIN & ZUG 1999).
