Type locality: Ile du Prince  
Reproductionovovivparous 
TypesNeotype: MSNG 35593A, Bahio do Ceste et Roca Inf, collected L. Fea, 1901, presented Enrique. Designation by Brygoo & Roux-Estève (1983). Syntypes: lost (formerly MBL, but lost in fire that destroyed the museum in 1978), 2 specimens, from Ile du Prince (Principe, Gulf of Guinea). 
Diagnosis 
CommentStatus unclear. Euprepis polylepis PETERS 1869 is listed in BOULENGER 1887: 157 as synonym of Mabuia stangeri (GRAY). Another synonym of Mabuia stangeri is Euprepes hopfferi BOCAGE 1875.
