DiagnosisDiagnosis: A form of Amphiesma pryeri distinguished by a reduced number of ventrals (159-165); latero-ventral black spots strongly developed; narrow, black-edged, light vertical bar antriorly on the sides of the body; head dark, the light supralabials heavily marbled with dark gray or black. (Malnate 1963)

This species is classified as “vulnerable” in Japan (Ota 2000).
