Diagnosis | Diagnosis: A large species of Amphiesma, SVL 640-730 mm (x̅ = 676 mm) for seven adult males, 603-800 mm (x̅ = 691 mm) for six adult females; VT [ventral scales] 169-178 in males, 164-171 in females; SC 102-109 in males, 93-103 in females; ground colour of head reddish brown in life, brown or brownish grey in preservative; single light V- shaped marking on neck; several light vertical streaks, each of one scale's width or narrower and with black anterior and posterior edges, on each side of anterior 1/ 3 to 1/2 of body; sulcus spermaticus simple, having nude, lip-like border on cylindrical portion of hemipenis and extending only to crotch between apical lobes; W chromosome metacentric, largest microchromosome (autosome pair 7) telocentric; reproductive mode viviparous.
