CommentSynonymy partly after COGGER 1983 and GREER 1967.

Type species: Lygosoma bougainvillii Duméril and Bibron, 1839 is the type species of the genus Nodorha Mittleman, 1952. WELLS 2012: 78 revived Nodorha for N. arenicola, bougainvillii, cassandrae, microtis intermedia, microtis microtis, schwaneri, and viduata. Unfortunately WELLS did not provide a phylogenetic analysis of the genera into which he broke up Lerista, hence we leave the current genus Lerista intact for the time being.

Limb morphology: 5 digits, 5 toes
EtymologyProbably named after Hyacinthe Yves Philippe Potentien, Baron de Bougainville (1781-1846), who visited Australia (1825). However, Gray did not provide an etymology.
