ReproductionOviparous.<br /><br />Hybridization: L. melanops and L. xanthoviridis each hybridize with L. shehuen and L. fitzingerii (Grummer et al. 2021). 
TypesHolotype: MACN 36701 (= Mus. Argent. Cienc. Nat.) 
Diagnosis 
Commentrevalidated by CEI & SCOLARO 1983. Liolaemus goetschi MÜLLER & HELLMICH 1938 has been removed from the synonymy of L. melanops.
