DistributionPhilippines (Dalupiri Island)

Type locality: east side of Dalupiri Island (19°05'N, 121°15'E), Babuyan Island Group.  
Reproductionoviparous 
TypesHolotype: PNM 2045, an adult female; on 18 March 1990 by barrio residents, preserved by R. I. Crombie. Paratypes. USNM 319287, 319289, CAS 188164, adult females, and USNM 319288, an adult male, same locality data as holotype; collected on 18-20 March 1990 by barrio residents. 
DiagnosisDiagnosis: This species is distinct from other congeneric species in having the internasal suture longer than 35% of the prefrontal suture, 186-194 ventral and 194-201 vertebral scales on body, in lacking keels on dorsal scales, and by lacking a distinct dorsal pattern. 
Comment 
EtymologyThe species epithet chrysoprateros derives from the Greek words chrys meaning gold and prater meaning trader, in recognition of the encouragement and support for our work in the Philippines given by our dear friend, H. G.Jarecki, former chairman of Mocatta Metals Corporation.
