DiagnosisDiagnosis: The nominate subspecies is characterized by having a snout rounded in lateral view with no preoral concavity on the inferior rostral; rostral extends posteriorly to the level of the eyes; total middorsals number 208-295 (mean 248.3); body stout with L/W ratio 27-64 (mean 39); L/TL ratio 5.3-11.4 (mean 8.8); maximum length = 230 mm. (HAHN & WALLACH 1998: 53) 
CommentDistribution: Not in Benin fide ULLENBRUCH et al. 2010, but possibly Benin (Hughes 2013). Not in Niger fide Trape & Mané 2015. Not in Mali fide Trape & Mané 2017.

Subspecies: Myriopholis narirostris boueti (CHABANAUD 1917) is now considered as a valid species.
