Type locality: Outjo,South West Africa.

TypesHolotype: ZMB 
DiagnosisDiagnosis: Differs from other members of the group in having the supraoculars fused with the oculars and anterior supralabial with the supranasal. The posterior supralabial does not reach the level of the eye. Middorsals 278-338; subcaudals 18-24; 12 scale rows on the tail; total length/ diameter ratio 54-106; total length/ tail ratio 14.3-24.5. Snout rounded to strongly hooked. About seven dorsal scale rows light to dark brown, lighter below. (Broadley & Broadley 1999)
