CommentNomenclature: The name calamarius was replaced by templetoni because Coluber calamarius was considered as a legitimate type species of Calamaria [see Brongersma et al, 1966, Bull Zool Nomencl. 22] fide F. WAGNER (pers. comm.). However, Calamaria linnaei was later declared the type species of Calamaria by ICZN Opinion 2196. Renamed from templetoni to calamarius fide Ruchira Somaweera who also says that records from India are erroneous (pers. comm.). C. calamarius is thus the correct name (P. DAVID, pers. comm. 13 Sep 2011).

Synonymy: Kaiser et al. 2013 considered the generic names Cottonkukri Hoser 2012, Crottykukrius Hoser 2012, Dannyelfakharikukri Hoser 2012, Daviekukri Hoser 2012, Funkikukri Hoser 2012, Geddykukrius Hoser 2012, Harrigankukriae Hoser 2012, Hoserkukriae Hoser 2012, Hugheskukri Hoser 2012, Moseselfakharikukri Hoser 2012, Ninkukri Hoser 2012, Oxykukrius Hoser 2012, Sammykukriae Hoser 2012, Smythkukri Hoser 2012 invalid and rejected their use instead of Oligodon.
