Diagnosis 
CommentSYNONYMY: Paroedura guibeae has been synonymized with Paroedura bastardi by Raxworthy and Nussbaum (2000) but revalidated by Miralles et al. 2021. Jackman et al. (2008) found sufficient genetic differences (and paraphyly) to recognize Paroedura bastardi ibityensis as a species different from bastardi. 
EtymologyNamed after Eugene Joseph Bastard (1865-1910), a colonial administrator, naturalist, and paleontologist particularly interested in the Madagascan fauna.
