Type locality: Yarkand [= Shache, 38º25' N, 77º14' E, southern Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, western China]  
Reproductionovovivparous; P. forsythii is sympatrically distributed with the oviparous species P. axillaris in the south-western Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region od China.
