Type locality: "Santa Fé de Bogotá, Colombia."  
Reproductionoviparous. Exhibits temperature‐dependent sex determination (TSD) fide Cornejo-Páramo et al. 2020 (and references therein). 
TypesLectotype: MNHN-RA 8995; paralectotype: MNHN-RA 8360. MNHN-RA 8985 (erroneously renumbered as MNHN-RA 9401), apparently designated lectotype on MNHN list of specimens (see Iverson 1986: 255). Lectotype designation by Bour 2006. 
Diagnosis 
CommentDistribution: Not in Venezuela (fide RIVAS et al. 2012). The only report from Venezuela (Pauler & Trebbau 1995) may have been based on a specimen introduced from Colombia by traders [RIVAS et al. 2012].
