Type locality: Bapo, Gongshan Xian, Yunnan, elevation 1450 m.

TypesHolotype: KIZ 730010, male; Paratype: KIZ 730036, female 
DiagnosisDiagnosis: differs from kingdonwardi in having subquadrangular smooth scales on the mandibular area, except for the central row, and granula scales on the gular scac, and the hindlimb reaching to the posterior angle of the mouth (Yang et al. 1979: 188). 
CommentSynonymy: See also Pseudocalotes kingdonwardi. Wang et al. 2018 “cannot evaluate whether P. k. bapoensis deserves full species status at this time” but they “conservatively treat bapoensis as a subspecies of P. kingdonwardi”. 
EtymologyP. k. bapoensis has been named after the type locality (Bapo).
