Type locality: Navassa Island.

TypesHolotype: AMNH 12595. 
Diagnosis 
CommentAbundance: only known from the type locality (Meiri et al. 2017). 
EtymologyNamed after Rollo Howard Beck (1870-1950), a collector for the California Academy of Sciences and the American Museum of Natural History. He collected in the Galapagos (1897-1898), Alaska (1911), and New Guinea (1928).
