TypesHolotype: MNHN-RA 5267 (2914b), near Haas, New Guinea, collected L. Laglaize.
Holotype: SMF 14454 (6239 1a in Mertens, 1922), Galnan, Admiralty Islands, New Guinea, collected E. Wolf, 1909 [wolfi] 
Diagnosis 
CommentSynonymy: Lygosoma (Hinulia) maindroni wolfi STERNFELD 1918 and Lygosoma (Otosaurus) wolfi STERNFELD 1918 (previously considered as a synonym of Sphenomorphus concinnatus) are different taxa.

wolfi: Solomon Islands (Bougainville); Terra typica: “Galnan, Admiralitäts-Inseln”. 
EtymologyNamed after Maurice Maindron (7 February 1857, Paris – 19 July 1911), French naturalist and explorer, who collected the holotype in New Guinea. (Glenn Shea, pers. comm., 2 Feb 2024)
