| Diagnosis | Diagnosis: Sphenomorphus bukitensis can be distinguished from all other Sundaland species of Sphenomorphus by the following unique combination of character states: an adult female SVL of 40.5–44 mm; 31–33 smooth, midbody scale rows; 73 or 74 paravertebral scales; 61–74 ventral scales; four supraoculars; parietals contacting supraoculars; prefrontals in contact; two enlarged posterior superciliary scales projecting dorsomedially; two loreal scales; six supralabial scales; five infralabial scales; 12 or 13 keeled, subdigital lamellae beneath the fourth toe; two enlarged, preanal scales; body bands absent; no distinct, dark, dorsolateral stripe; and no light postorbital stripe. Table 1 in GRISMER 2007 compares these character states are compared across all species examined. |
