Type locality: Type locality: King Hall Island, WA [16°05'S 123°25'E].

DiagnosisDiagnosis: Differs from all other members of the bipes species group (sensu stricto) in each of the following characters: prefrontals distinct, and phalanges of fourth toe of pes four instead of five. 
CommentOnly known from the holotype (Amey et al. 2005).

Synonymy: Maryan suspected that Lerista praefrontalis is an aberrant specimen of L. griffini, suggesting that the former is a synonym of L. griffini.

Abundance: only known from the type specimen (Meiri et al. 2017). 
EtymologyThe species name derives from the unique retention of the prefrontals within
the bipes species-group..
