TypesSyntypes: MNHN-RA 0259, MNHN-RA 0264 and MNHN-RA 2745 (composed of MNHN-RA 2745 and MNHN-RA 2745A) - total 4 syntypes 
DiagnosisDiagnosis (genus): Head shields' normal; nostril pierced between 2 or 3 nasals and
well separated from upper labials. Lower eyelid scaly, opaque. Collar well marked.Dorsal scales small, smooth, juxtaposed. Ventral plates smooth, feebly imbricate: Digits more or less cylindrical, not serrated laterally; subdigital lamellae smooth. Femoral pores present, Tall long and cylindrical. Terrestrial (Fitzsimons 1943: 311). 
CommentSynonymy: mostly after FITZSIMONS 1943

Type species: Lacerta lalandii MILNE-EDWARDS 1829 is the type species of the genus Nucras GRAY 1838.
