Distribution	Indonesia (Borneo), Malaysia (Borneo). Type locality: "..near the Fort at Long Loba, Tinjar River, Sarawak" (unlocated, in East Malaysia [Borneo]).

Comment	Name: Latin for confusing, in allusion to the squamation of head that is similar to that of Tropidophorus brookei (Gray, 1845).
