Type locality: rock outcrops on northern slope of Serrania de Huanchaca, Bolivia (13 36'S, 60 54'W), 500-600 m elevation.

TypesHolotype: UTA R-89610 (field tag M. B. Harvey 5011), an adult male collected 22 September1995 by Michael B. Harvey, James Aparicio E., Claudia Cortez, Lucindo Gonzales A, Juan Fernando Guerra S, María Esther Montaño, and Maria Esther Pérez B. Paratypes.-Eleven males and six females (UTA R-39611-27) collected with the holotype

EtymologyNamed after Greek calos (καλός), beautiful + Greek thelys (θῆλυς), female; soft, delicate (Esteban Lavilla, pers. comm., April 2024)
