Type locality: Aagtel Agmumuit, between Yeloua and Mades (Adrar Souttouf, Western Sahara) (21° 52'N, 15° 31'W)

TypesHolotype: MUNA (Museo De Naturaleza y Arqueología, Tenerife), was: ULPGC (also as DBULPGC) 5 collected by M. Hasi June 25th 1995. Paratype: E.B.D.29495. Both types were considered lost” before the type was moved to MUNA, fide Gabriel Martínez, pers. comm. 16 Oct 2024, 9 March 2025.

CommentStatus unclear. This species is known from only 2 specimens and it was never found again and the types are lost. Gabriel Martínez believes that the specimens may not have originated from the reported type locality and may represent some other species (pers. comm., 18 Oct 2024). 
EtymologyThe specific name occidentalis (Latin) refers to the western distribution of this species.
