Diagnosis 
CommentDistribution: see ETHERIDGE & WILLIAMS 1991 for a map. 
EtymologyNamed in honor of Jose Maria Gallardo, who first correctly distinguished Urostrophus from Cupriguanus = Pristidactylus and also briefly described the characteristics of the Argentine population.
