CommentHybridization: Hybrids between Eunectes notaeus and E. murinus have been described and E. deschauenseei is extremely closely related to E. notaeus (fide DIRKSEN & BÖHME 1998).

Phylogenetics: E. notaeus, beniensis, and deschauenseei are closely related and Rivas et al. 2024 suggested to synonymize them, cofirming data by Tarkhnishvili et al. 2022.
