DistributionMorocco (east and south of the Atlas Mountain Chain), W Algeria (Sahara Atlas, NW/NE/SW of the Great Western Erg).

Type locality: Tilrhempt between Laghouat and Ghardaia, Algeria.

werneri: W Algeria through Morocco. Type locality: “Provinz Oràn” (= Ain Sefra?, fide MERTENS 1962, cited in WERMUTH 1967).  
Reproductionoviparous (not imputed, fide Zimin et al. 2022) 
TypesHolotype: BMNH 1969.2074, male, coll. W. Rothschild and E. Hartert, without date (for remarks see WILMS& BÖHME 2001).
