Type locality: Ta’izz, Yemen

DiagnosisDiagnosis: Short snout. Four entire supraoculars. One row ofgranules between the supraoculars and the superciliaries. Lightly keeled temporals. Large ear opening slightly denticulated anteriorly by 4 or 5 scales. Moderately pectinate eyelid. Medium-sized scales on the lower lid. Sharply keeled tympanic scale present. Subocular separated from the lip and lodged between the fourth and fifth supralabial. Distinguishable gular fold. Ventrals arranged in 10 straight longitudinal rows. Small flat dorsals lightly keeled and numbering 34 to 57 across the middle of the body. Toes with scant pectination. Three rows of scales on fingers. Large and distinctly keeled scales on the upper side of the tail (Salvador 1982: 54).
