CommentTerra typica: “Ravine Station, Mauritania Mts., Kenya”, according to other authors.

Synonymy: Lacerta jacksoni kibonotensis LÖNNBERG 1907: 5 has been removed from the synonymy of A. jacksoni and revalidated as full species by Greenbaum et al. 2018.

Comparisons: Arnold 1989 presents a list of 51 characters across 4 species of Adolfus (A. jacksoni, alleni, africanus, vauereselli). 
EtymologyNamed after Sir Frederick John Jackson (1859-1929), English administrator, diplomat, explorer, naturalist, ornithologist, and the first Governor of the new Kenya colony (1889), and later Governor of Uganda (1911-1918).
