Type locality: Tamaulipas, 21 km north of Villagran.

Diagnosis 
CommentVenomous!

Subspecies: Agkistrodon bilineatus taylori has been elevated to species status by PARKINSON et al. (2000) based on mtDNA sequences. PORRAS et al. 2013 elevated the other subspecies to full species status.

Distribution: not in Querétaro fide Tepos-Ramírez et al. 2023. 
EtymologyNamed after Edward Harrison Taylor (1889-1978), American herpetologist who spent several years in the Philippines before returning to the University of Kansas.
