| Etymology | A homage to the Brazilian naturalist Alexandre Rodrigues Ferreira, born in Salvador, state of Bahia, as a recognition for his effort to document the natural history of Brazil at the end of the 18th century. The specific epithet is a homage to the extinct Camacan Indians, a Botocudo group who lived in the exuberant forests of Bahia from north of Rio Pardo to Ilhéus. |
