Diagnosis | Diagnosis: Ptychoglossus myersi comes close to being totally cryptic with P. plicatus; both having mucronate dorsals, no lateral discontinuity on trunk, pointed intracaudal scales, blunt ridges on some head scales and the same general asymmetry to the tip of the hemipenis. From P. plicatus, it can be distinguished by sometimes having a median marginal preanal scale, relatively shorter limbs and by details of the hemipenis: 9-12 (not 23-27) flounces and finger-like projection from the medial half of the tip long and extended downward across upper part of sulcus spermaticus.
