Type locality: Venezuela; Bolivar, headwaters of Cafio
Majagua (enters the Rio Chipura at 05°30’N, 64°40’W).

Abundance: only known from its original description (Meiri et al. 2017). This is one of the species called 'lost' and 'rediscovered' by Lindken et al. 2024. 
EtymologyNamed after Dr. Janis Arnolds Roze (b. 1926), born in Latvia. He is Emeritus Professor of Biology, City College and Graduate School, City University of New York, and was associated with the American Museum of Natural History and the United Nations.
