Type locality: Hermannsburg, Northern Territory.

TypesHolotype: SAMA R88, presented F. Scarfe, 22.i.1912 
DiagnosisDiagnosis: A dark, medium-sized, moderately slender blind-snake with snout angular in profile, 22 midbody scale rows and nasal cleft proceeding from preocular. Most like R. hamatus but with wider rostral and more numerous ventrals (more than 400 v. fewer than 400) (from Storr 1981).
