Type locality: Parador Selva Negra on México Highway 195 (approximately 0.5 km W Pinabeto), Municipality of Rayón at the border with Municipality of Pueblo Nuevo Solistahuacán, Chiapas México; 17° 12' 58" N, 92° 57' 47" W; 1992 m elevation.
