Type locality: “Hayti”; restricted by Hertz, 1976, to Pétionville, Département de l'Ouest, Haiti, but corrected to "República Dominicana" by Wetherbee, 1987.

EtymologyApparently named after Latin semi = half, and linea = line, stripe, referring to the “yellow band from supralabial line to middle of side or groin”.
