DistributionCuba (widely distributed in the central and western portion of the island), Isla de Juventud, Archipiélago de Camaguey (Cayo Las Brujas and Cayo Santa Maria).

Type locality: Bosque de la Habana, Ciudad Habana Prov., Cuba.

EtymologyPresumably named after the Latin pumilus (a dwarf), in reference to the small size of this species.
