Anolis vanidicus vanidicus: Sierra de Trinidad and adjacent lowlands. Type locality: 4 km W, 12 km N Trinidad (road to Topes de Collantes), Sancti Spiritus Province, Cuba.

CommentAnolis vanidicus rejectus has been elevated to species status by GARRIDO & HEDGES 2000.

Species group: Anolis alutaceus species group (fide NICHOLSON et al. 2012). 
EtymologyNamed after Latin vanidicus, meaning "talking vainly" or "lying" in reference to the confusion of this species with A. spectrum.
