DistributionBrazil (Pernambuco, Agrestina, Bahia, Paraíba)

Type locality: Argestina, Estade de Pernambuco, Brasil  
Reproductionoviparous. Reproducton occurrs during the wet season, from March to August, with reproductve actvity declining in September and October (Fig. 3 in Soares-Oliveira et al. 2018) and hatchlings emerging mainly in April and August (Fig. 4). Females had the highest volume of vitellogenic follicles in March and April (Fig. 5), and egg presence from March to August. Gravid females have a fxed clutch size of two eggs. The incubaton period is 43 to 49 days. The mean size of hatchlings is 18.85±0.91 mm (Soares-Oliveira et al. 2018).

EtymologyThe specific name is a homage to Dr. Paulo Emílio Vanzolini (1924-2013), one of the most distinguished Brazilian zoologists. About Vanzolini see Heyer (2004), Bastos & Sa 2011, and Dirksen 2013.
